About the Organisation and Project


Active Canvas is a private foundation and a part of Nadathur Holdings and Investments Pvt Ltd, focusing on nature-inspired innovation, conservation and women’s education and empowerment.


The foundation, set up by Raksha Sriram and Sriram Nadathur, has partnered with local non-profits, principally Guardians of Dreams (who are working to upgrade and transform the quality of care across Child Care Institutions like children’s homes, open shelters etc in the country), to launch a pilot program supporting women graduating from care homes to go into further education.

We’re now looking for a passionate Project Manager to drive our resource and help us realise this pilot and transform lives.


About the Role 

We are on the lookout for individuals who have a strong interest in the cause of young women’s education, health and wellbeing and skilling to enable independent living. The role involves leading the design and execution of the pilot program, identifying, and working closely with program partners, engaging with the larger ecosystem or women’s education and being the local face / ambassador with its various stakeholders.

Being a new initiative and working with early-stage foundation, individuals who are versatile and looking for more than just a regular 9 to 5 job are more likely to enjoy the role. Functional details:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and onboard partner organisations (as consultants / service providers) towards program implementation. 
  • Liaison with various types of educational institutions (universities, vocational training centres etc) towards enabling higher education for the young women under the program.  
  • Be available to support/coach and guide the beneficiaries of this program (young women between 18-23). 
  • Understand beneficiaries needs / requirements and propose solutions to the foundation’s leadership.

·       Help plan processes to ensure that our project stages are delivered on time.

  • Be the local ambassador for the program by coordinating people and internal resources: liaison with Child Care and Women’s Institutions across Bangalore, teaming with partners & volunteers, and creating operational plans to drive implementation. 

·       Set up project management processes that enable volunteers / partners to run smooth, efficient project execution. 

·       Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

·       Measure project performance using appropriate monitoring systems, impact assessment tools and techniques. 

·       Perform risk management to minimize project risks.

Preferred Experience: 

  • 2-4 years of experience in community engagement/fellowships OR project management/project implementation in the development sector. 

·       Experience or strong interest in mentoring / coaching young women from vulnerable backgrounds. 

·       Strong background in managing projects and working with volunteers.

Skills and Abilities: 

·       They should be an excellent communicator (written, oral and in person) and comfortable managing multiple tasks. 

·       Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Ability to deal with multiple stakeholders: volunteers, NGO’s, charities, private donors, corporates, universities and colleges.  

·       Comfortable working with software like Google Suite, MS Office, etc.

  • Ability to travel domestically.

·       Ability to adapt to changes with problem-solving aptitude.

·       Attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

·       Strong Leadership skills: ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve common goals.

·       Cultural Awareness of current landscape in Bangalore.

·       Positive can-do attitude with the ability to run the project and make things happen.

·       High emotional acumen.

  • Ability to converse in Kannada
