Founded in 2001, the organization is South Asia’s leading Assessment research and educational technology organization, motivated by the vision of creating “a world where children everywhere are learning with understanding”. Through partnerships with Central and State Governments, philanthropic foundations, multilateral agencies, and corporate funders, the organization has done pioneering work large- scale assessments and EdTech. They have undertaken over 80+ projects with 50+ government and civil society partners (16+ languages, 40+ detailed studies published) across geographies, socio- linguistic backgrounds in India and abroad, for more than 10 million students across different grades.
Project Summary
The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) in Tamil Nadu is setting up a State Assessment Cell to transform the Teaching and Learning process by creating digitized assessments. The purpose of this initiative is to ensure that the quality of assessments is improved across the state while empowering government school teachers to create localized assessments. The Assessment Cell team would be responsible for ensuring that the state has robust and standardized assessment questions for Grades 6 –12 and conduct capacity building sessions to equip teachers to create appropriate assessments.
Position Summary
As an Operations Lead, you will play a vital role as a subject expert, responsible for quality assurance of questions and training expert, responsible for capacity building, learning and development, facilitation.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
As Lead-Operations, you will play a vital role in an administrative capacity to facilitate the daily functions and operations of the team. As the team coordinator you will coordinate the daily affairs of the team in planning, meetings and team communication and provide direction and organization for the project.
•Working in coordination with Senior Manager to coordinate State Assessment Cell.
•Developing a detailed plan along with internal team; monitor and track systematically using appropriate tools; report progress as well as risks regularly.
•Developing quarterly and monthly operating plan for State Assessment Cell.
• Securing required approvals from the concerned officials during implementation of the plan.
•Coordination with State, district level officials and schools with regards to activities to be undertaken by the State Assessment Cell.
•Organize various capacity building workshops, meetings, and all other activities
to be undertaken by the State Assessment Cell.
•Monitoring and Supervision of programme undertaken by State Assessment Cell.
•Ensuring goals are met in all relevant areas including programme implementation and team member performance.
• Preparing progress reports highlighting impact on students’ learning levels in the state.
•Ensure timely submission of the reports after each activity of the State Assessment Cell.
