We are in the initial stages and want to build a strong team while ensuring team’s personal growth. We currently have multiple outreach channels that need to be regularly updated, managed and maintained. Our communication is written, visual and in the forms of documented learnings. We need someone who can handle all the dynamic aspects of communication in a fast-growing organisation, which includes but is not limited to managing social media, publication, advocacy, and donor reporting.
We expect the following from you for this role: *All the below mentioned tasks will be key to your role. The following requirements are not mentioned in order of priority.
Social Media Management
● Actively seeking, forging and managing social media platforms of the organization like - LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram & Facebook
● Running theme specific and project specific paid and unpaid campaigns on the organization’s social media platforms
● Creating, editing and publishing high quality videos of the organization's work on various social media channels
● Managing all other external requests, communications, volunteers, through online and offline channels
Funder Reporting & Advocacy
● Creating, structuring, and working with designers to finalise reports of impact for funders and donors
● Collating and publishing periodic newsletters and sharing with all stakeholders involved
● Creating collateral for any kinds of presentations/ reports/ events/ other needs at the organization online and offline. Eg: funder requests, partner projects, etc
● Actively coordinating and leading the advocacy efforts with media team of the organization’s government partners to amplify the organization’s programs and impact
Offline Publications
● Leveraging own connections to publish offline articles in local and national newspapers, magazines and other publications
● Creating a pipeline of content and news to be published at scale
● Forging external partnerships for offline media marketing
Leadership & Strategy
● Creating the organization's overall media strategy (multi year)
● Coordinating and leading the rebranding processes of the organization
● Leading and nurturing the communications team at the organization
Qualifications & Skills / Experience / Characteristics
● Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years+ of full-time professional experience in mass communication and journalism or related fields (prior nonprofit or startup experience is preferred)
● Sense of ownership, entrepreneurial, resourceful, frugality, and sense of possibility
● Proficiency in any/ few photo editing, video editing and design softwares likes InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, Corel Draw, etc
● Proficiency in Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Slides & Mail Merge, etc
● Experience in developing visual and written content, handling marketing and outreach through online and offline medium
● Existing connection/relationship that may help Labhya collaborate with offline/online publications to feature Labhya’s impact and work
● Managing freelancers and interns
● Great communication skills in English and Hindi
● Attention to detail and process orientation
● Conscientiousness, discipline, rigor and ability to take/give feedback
● Is excellent at maintaining relationships and is very systematic about tracking progress
